VITAMIN C 101
One ingredient we have all obtained through foods as well as supplementation is Vitamin C! While most people think it is just found in a small array of fruits (such as oranges) this specific vitamin is present in many of the citrus fruits such as orange, kiwi, lemon, guava, grapefruit, and vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts and capsicums are rich, natural sources of vitamin C.
My personal favorite source is from bell peppers since they contain roughly three times more vitamin C than an orange.
Both a water-soluble vitamin and antioxidant depending on the body’s requirements, Vitamin C is a multifaceted power nutrient that plays key roles in many of the bodily processes. From a performance and mental standpoint, Vitamin C can reduce oxidative stress, mitigate the damage from free radicals, support the synthesis of neurotransmitters and reduce unwanted cortisol levels.†
